Getting into internet marketing is simple and surely most beginners feel that there are logical steps that should be followed when running an online business. But, if running an online internet marketing business is so logical why don't most people think of all of the things that took them months or even years to learn? This article will cover some of the things that many people assume are logical in internet marketing and show you how that is not the case at all.
"You have to advertise in order to make sales" -
While it might seem that this is obvious statement on the surface is it really? I mean, of course you have to advertise to make sales. If you didn't do that then how else would your potential customers even know your website exists?
If it is so obvious that we need to advertise, then why do so many people set up their website and then do nothing more than submit it for listing on a search engine? Do they really think that they are advertising? Perhaps some will argue that they are.
The real point is that most successful internet marketers understand that you have to do a lot more than worry about search engine ranking to make a sale.
So no, it is not so obvious that you need to advertise to make sales because so many people online are not doing it!
"You have to sell something that people need" -
This seems reasonably obvious right? Well the truth is that this is actually totally wrong. You don't have to sell something that people need, you have to sell something that people WANT!
Consider this. Do people really need an MLM program that costs $3000 to join and has no product other than a sales pitch to get others to sign up under them? Of course not, they don't even want the product itself. What they want is a $3000 commission from someone else signing up underneath them.
So make sure that you look at this statement for what it is worth. People buy thing that think will make their life better. This is a want, not a need.
"You need to know how to write in order to write a good sales page" - No kidding, right?
It is painfully obvious that you need to know how to write. But what you probably don't realize is that you don't need to be able to write well in order to create a sales page that converts like crazy.
I see sales pages all the time that look like they were put together by a 5 year old.
My point is, when you are thinking about your business; don't take the obvious for granted. Look around at what all of the people in your field are and are NOT doing.
Things really only become obvious after you fully comprehend how important they are.
